Rulebook vs Gong
Gong describes a revenue AI platform with AI agents that analyze calls, emails and other interactions. Rulebook is an AI work agent: it finds the work that your team agrees on, does it in your tools after the owner approves, and checks the result. The two products have a different focus.
What Gong says on its own pages
- Gong describes pre-built and custom AI agents for revenue teams on its platform.
- A Gong press release says that its agents analyze emails, calls and other interactions.
- The same press release says that Agent Studio lets business users set the inputs, the outputs and the autonomy of an agent.
What Rulebook does today
The same five questions on each compare page. These results come from Brightloop, our demo company with synthetic data, on real HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack and Google accounts. They are not results from customers.
Where does the work come from?
From meeting transcripts, Slack request channels and direct messages, inbound email and the regular tasks in your playbooks. Rulebook finds the work by itself: nobody has to write a prompt.
Who approves a change?
The owner of the work item. By default, Rulebook asks the owner before it changes a record. It always asks a person before it sends an email to your customers or does a legal or financial step.
Does it do the work in your tools?
Yes: in HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Gmail and Google Drive, Docs and Slides. See the integrations.
How do you know that it is done?
Rulebook reads each change back from the tool. The work is done only when the values match, and each run keeps a receipt.
Where does each fact come from?
Each fact cites its source. A second model checks each claim, and a fact with no source becomes "Unknown: needs a human". See the trust page.
Which one fits your team
If you mainly want insight from your customer calls and emails, Gong describes its platform for that. If you want the work that your team agrees on in meetings, Slack and email to be done in your CRM, inbox and documents, with proof, that is what Rulebook does.
How we compare
- We ask the same five questions of each product.
- We quote a vendor only from its own pages, with the link and the date.
- We mark a fact UNCONFIRMED until we have read it on the vendor page.
- We never say that another product "cannot" do something.
- Is a fact wrong or old? Tell us at support@getrulebook.com and we will fix it.
Rulebook is in early development. We start pilots with a small number of teams. Join the waitlist
